The best place - Hua Hin !!!

I am one of most of the Bangkokians who is a big fan of Hua Hin beach! Since I learn how to swim – parents took us to Hua Hin during vacations – Hau Hin. Is like my 2nd home even my mom and dad’s…
It makes me feel like I know Hua Hin so well – just like every Thais do.  If you are living in Bangkok and you meet our friends or any xxx walking in Hua Hin Market more often than meet them in Bangkok. Hua Hin Market has been popular among visitors because they are full of life. Here, you can find contemporary art and hand made stuff – fresh sea food – bars… ….
Another favorite stop that I have to go every morning when visit Hua Hin is an old fishing port, here you can find fresh seafood caught from the sea or even ask the fisherman wife to grill them for you.  This old fishing port really makes me think of childhood who loved to do night fishing in a Fisher Man boat I found that it was really cool and something to show off to friend when I was a kid.
Recently, I just found another weekend market call CICADA market. This is a new place for Bangkokians to hang out on Saturday.  Here you will find handicraft / food and lots of Art Items.  Plearnwarn is another neat ‘MAN-Made’ market that imitate Hua Hin market in the period of 50’s – highly recommened!
Hua Hin has been a renowned "Palace on the Beach", has been a royal retreat since the 1920's….So, there are several historical places to visit – most of them remarks architecture of the town in the old days. The Maruekatayawan Palace is one of the oldest and most charming palace in Thailand - was constructed by His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) in 1923. The architectural design of the raised-floor wooden palace, with its three sections facing the sea --- very romantic! Hua Hin Train Station is also another ‘Must See’ attraction built since King Rama the 5th that turn Hua Hin into the first a cluster of a royal, high-society residences.
My overconfidence on my knowledge has just been thrilled when I starting working in Hua Hin couple months ago and found that there are lots & lots of unseen places that I never heard of – such as Khao Luang Cave 1 hours fron Hua Hin downtown. This cave had been a royal picnic site since the King Rama IV period rests the Dressing Buddha Image that King Rama V graciously built in memory of King Rama III. This There are some interesting items to be seen in this monastery such as a old pavilion, and beautiful wood carved door panels of the main shrine hall which was designed and constructed by the Lord Abbot who was a famous artisan. Few minutes from here there is another place bult since King RAMA the IV (who known to the world as the King & I tails) - Khao Wang Heritage Park – a beautifully maintained built in 1860, situated atop a 92-meter-high hill.  It comprises royal halls, palaces, temples, and groups of buildings. The complex which was constructed mostly of harmonious Western neoclassic and Chinese architecture tops the 3 large hills. This is another Must See place for me.
As an armature diver – I found Talu Island located in Bangsaphan, Prachuapkhirikhan 2 hours from Hua Hin as a heaven for me.  Its shallow diving spot makes this island one of the most beautiful of a rich marine life.

Khao Wang, Hua Hin

NO FAR AWAY FROM HUA HIN !! AND A PLACE MUST VISIT !!! CHECK IT OUT !!

This 92-metre hillock on the northern approach to Phetchaburi provincial capital (some 36 kilometres north of Cha-am), supports the Phra Nakhon Khiri palace constructed in 1860 by King Rama IV (King Mongkut). Phetchaburi residents refer to it as Khao Wang, literally Palace Hill.

The style is mainly European with some Thai and Chinese influences. Sitting on three peaks the temple of Wat Phra Khew is to the east; the main stupa of Phra That Chom Phet in the middle and the residential Grand Palace to the west.

Both Kings Rama IV & V used the palace at their leisure and to entertain their visitors. After the death of King Rama V it was used less and less and sadly slipped into a state of decay. In 1935 it was registered as a national monument by the Fine Arts Department and was restored to be a National Museum and National Park. Open daily 9am-4pm it can be conveniently reached by funicular railway round-trip 40 Baht. Once at the top entrance to the Museum is 30 Baht for foreigners and 10 Baht for Thais.

It is an excellent half-day excursion and takes a couple of hours to walk the path linking the three peaks. The views are spectacular.

NEW ITALIAN TRATTORIA

Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa has re-launched the Italian section of The Market with a new rustic Trattoria restaurant concept. Open daily, diners can pick from signature pizzas from the wood-fire oven, the traditional antipasti bar including delectable cold cuts along with a new and comprehensive cheese and wine cellar.

The perfect meeting place for a delicious Italian meal accompanied by great vino in charming surroundings. Arrivederci!
